The “Association for Well-being Economy” (AWE), initiated by leaders from various sectors, was officially established in Hong Kong, China, on April 25 2025. The association is dedicated to promoting a “Well-being Economy” model that centres on holistic well-being and sustainable values, aiming to guide Hong Kong enterprises towards value-driven innovation and cross-border collaboration, thereby opening up new prospects for economic transformation.

The inauguration ceremony was successfully held at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, with Mr. Chavalit Frederick Tsao, Chairman of the AWE; Mr. Ma Si-hang, GBS, JP, Chairman-designate of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council; and Dr. Rey Shen HER, Deputy CEO of the Tzu Chi Charity Foundation, serving as officiating guests. Mr. Joseph Chan Ho-lim, JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong SAR, also sent a congratulatory video for the occasion. The ceremony began with the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China, and nearly 400 distinguished guests from the government, business, academic, and professional sectors gathered to witness the beginning of this new chapter for the association.
